Assessing the Digital Competence of Senior High School Teachers in the Sixth District of Manila: Basis for Training Framework

The main goal of this study is to assess the digital competence of senior high school teachers in the sixth district of Manila as a basis for training framework. The respondents of this study were composed of teachers from three subject areas: science, language, and mathematics. The study focused on five aspects of digital competence namely content information processing, communication, content creation, safety, and problem-solving. Based on the result of analysis of variance there is no significant difference in the five aspects of digital competence when grouped according to age, subject area, educational attainment, and years in service. The result shows that the teachers were equipped with the necessary equipment for digital competence. The study also revealed that there are some challenges the teachers are facing in the application of digital competence. It is recommended to apply the study to other subject areas in senior high school.
