Analysis of DWDM Transmission System in the Presence of SRS for Optical Networks
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) provides increased capacity by increasing the number of channels and with the aid of optical amplifiers increased distances obtained which is hindered by fiber nonlinearity. The various fiber nonlinearities such as Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS), Four Wave Mixing (FWM), Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS), Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) arises with increase in number of channels, increased fiber interaction length and various other factors. So, there is a need to analyze all the factors and to provide an effective way of transmission in the presence of fiber nonlinearities. In this paper, the various fiber nonlinearities with respect to Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing are discussed and SRS effect is analyzed in detail for various channel.
