Performance Analysis of Dual-Hop Relaying Networks with Nth Best-Path Selection over Rayleigh Fading Channel

Cooperative relaying is one of the potential technique which exploits progress in better signalling and spatial diversity. A novel relay approach, the Nth Best-Relay Selection scheme is projected to recover the bandwidth scarcity and to enhance the spatial diversity in cooperative systems. A single branch dual-hop network with Decode-and-forward (DF) and Amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative diversity systems is considered. The projected Nth Best-Relay selection scheme performance over single branch dual-hop system were analyzed using the closed-form expression of BER (Bit error rate) and Outage probability using binary and quadrature phase shift keying modulation schemes (BPSK & QPSK) with decode-and-forward (DF) and amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative diversity systems over Rayleigh fading channel . Simulation outputs illustrates the diversity order of the Nth best relay is equal to (M−N +2) where M is the total number of relays.
