A Resource Management Framework to Enhance Reliability of Real Time System
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This paper suggests a novel idea of resource estimation of a real time system and regulation of the same. To enable the engineering of real time systems such as greenhouse control systems,we present static resource management middleware techniques that achieve the QoS requirements of the system. The middleware performs QoS monitoring and failure detection, QoS diagnosis, and reallocation of resources to adapt the system to achieve acceptable levels of QoS. Thus in this paper we have proposed a three phase model to improve the system reliability and availability. In the first phase we discussed about how to analyze the system design to identify key processes that needs to be provided with redundancies. In our second phase we defined a resource model using a box-in-box strategy for managing resources for regular periodic processes, redundant processes as well as sporadic processes. In our final phase we described how exactly redundant processes will be applicable in case of process failure. Thus this three-phase attempt at redundant scheduling and resource management of real time systems is aimed at achieving improved system reliability and availability. In the end we are getting an optimal system structure and resource policy.
