This paper deals with modelling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink of wind farm DFIG interconnected with a matrix converter. The Matrix converter is mainly used to convert the constant voltage and frequency sinusoidal supply into variable voltage and frequency. In a grid where industrial load is connected, the matrix converter is used. The main advantage is that the phase sequence problem is minimized. The switching algorithm is based on an indirect phase vector modulation allows direct control of input current and output voltage. Hence allows the power factor of the source to be controlled. The results are validated through simulation.

Abstract

This paper deals with modelling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink of wind farm DFIG interconnected with a matrix converter. The Matrix converter is mainly used to convert the constant voltage and frequency sinusoidal supply into variable voltage and frequency. In a grid where industrial load is connected, the matrix converter is used. The main advantage is that the phase sequence problem is minimized. The switching algorithm is based on an indirect phase vector modulation allows direct control of input current and output voltage. Hence allows the power factor of the source to be controlled. The results are validated through simulation.
