Video streaming is made possible through the invention of wireless technologies. This paper deals with a mobile network for video streaming is established on the roads by making each vehicle on the road as end terminal. This is accomplished by adding some communication equipment to each vehicle. The underlying mobile technology used is Bluetooth. Since Bluetooth is limited for high data rate applications, the best compression algorithms MPEG4 are used, as it provides very low bit-rates. To transmit video frames (I frames in MPEG4) without any error, Bluetooth protocol stack is optimized in its link layer. Bluetooth can make adhoc networks whenever two Bluetooth enabled devices are within the 100m range. For road safety application, Video camera and Bluetooth enabled handheld computer, are mounted in the front part of the automobiles. Each vehicle has video signal, which depicts what are the things in front of it. This video is compressed using MPEG4.This video is streamed between vehicles wirelessly. This video gives the information what is happening in front up to 100m even that view is obstructed by the vehicle in front so that accidents can be reduced. Secondly, Global Positioning Systems can be used to drive the vehicle in the mist conditions is also envisioned.
