Stress is a twentieth century syndrome. Day in and Day out we all thrive on a certain amount of pressure and it is important that we all need some amount of pressure to do our job best. But if this pressure becomes excessive, it can be counterproductive and lead to stress. Stress is how our body reacts to various demands. When people feel stressed their body reacts by releasing chemicals in the blood.

We should try to maintain balance between too little and too much pressure by adapting positive thinking. Stress reduces performance and morale of the employees at workplace, it increases work place absenteeism. Job stress poses a threat to physical health, stress in the life of an employee, affects the health of the organization and the employee.
