Double Cluster Head Analogy for Reliable Wireless Sensor Network
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Most of the sensor nodes in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) have limited energy. Enhancing energy efficient algorithms to increase the WSN lifetime is of researcher’s interest for the past two decades. The present study demonstrates the data routing method from node to BS (Base Station) using two cluster heads to prolong the battery life of sensor nodes. The double cluster head analogy reduces the overhead of cluster head, avoids packet collision, and improves reliable data transmission with little compromise in energy consumption and hop count compare to single cluster head method. The present study demonstrates the data routing method using Energy efficient Surface water Wireless Sensor Network (ES-WSN) Algorithm for reliable operation of wireless sensor network. If single cluster head is used for both collecting the information from the nodes as well as communicating with BS, there would be countable packet loss, resulting in more processing time, and adequate reformation of clusters. To avoid the drawbacks of single cluster head method second cluster head is selected to provide link between first cluster head and BS.
