Postpartum depression (PPD) is a major maternal mental health issue since it adversely affects the mental health of women after childbirth. This paper focuses its attention on the contributing factors and consequences based on available literature on PPD. The paper aims to find the gap in the research on postpartum depression to make the basis clear for an intervention program to help the women with PPD.
