This paper demonstrates the potentials of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies for mapping and delineating site suitable for fonio production in Adamaewa State. Site Suitability is necessary to create a data bank and guide to the farmer in decision making. (site that suitable for crop production). The six criteria that are used for the study include soil map, Relief (Topographiy) map, Vegetation map, Temperature map, Annual rainfall map and Rainfall Length map of Adamawa State. Combination of both non-GIS and GIS software were used. Corel draw 12 was used for data capture, ILWIS 3.7 was used for georeferencing, Arcview 3.2 Academy was used for digitizing the map while idrisi 32 were used for overlay and other calculation. The study reveals that about 70% of the state’s landmass is suitable and most suitable for the production of fonio. As part of the recommendation Government should encourage the production of the cereal in the state, especially in the central part of the state to meet the need of the people.

The objective of this research work is aim at providing reliable information to land-use planners, it offers almost limitless opportunities for intelligent land-use allocation using Geographic Information System approach. Land-use planning is a decision making process, it is a geometrical process. Therefore, planners need appropriate and reliable geographical information to enable them make sound decisions relating to sharing of various competing land-uses. Thus, the end product of the GIS will be part of an Educational Decision Support System that provides the user with a map of Mubi North with focus on the schools locations and future sites for establishment of secondary schools with additional related information to assist decision-makers in either expanding current school or suggesting sites for new schools in Mubi North, and also, for student and resources location/allocation. The aim of the research was achieved through identification of private and public secondary schools in the study area, mapping the secondary schools in the study area, carrying out Buffer Analysis of two kilometer from schools location. And finally Through the use of Area Distance Analysis technique that was used to proposed suitable sites for more schools in the study area.

This research work was aimed at accessing people perception on the socio-economic impact of mobile telecommunication mast on small business in mubi town of Adamawa State. The fast rise in the use of mobile telecommunication in recent years has resulted to a rise in the amount of mobile transmission masts being built near resident’s areas and the mobile telecommunication industry has a tremendous impact on the socio – economic growth of Adamawa State and Nigeria at large. The objectives are to examine the socio – economic impacts of mobile telecommunication masts on Mubi town and examine the environmental effect of telecommunication masts location experienced by resident in the study area. A total number of 100 questionnaires were administered to the respondent to examine the impact on socio – economic and effect to the environment on mobile telecommunication masts. Only 93 questionnaires where successfully analyzed by the researcher. Simple percentage, frequencies and tables where used to analyze the objectives. The study also revealed that the mobile telecommunication masts has effect on the environment thereby causing environmental pollution to its environs (i.e. emission of carbon monoxide). Based on these findings the study recommends that; the federal, state and local government, NCC, ATC and Telecommunication providers should ensure to create enlightenment/awareness campaign to the public regarding the health hazards/illness of residing near a mobile telecommunication mast as well as the new technology used in the company to avoid assumption of the people on the causes of the telecommunication masks.
