Transient Aphemia-A Typical Presentation of Vivax Malaria

Malaria is an important differential in patients with fever and neurological manifestations.. This report narrates a rare account of transient aphemia (complete loss of word output with preserved ability to write) secondary to plasmodium vivax (p.vivax) infection which was completely reversed on administration of anti-malarials and examines the pathophysiological and clinical aspects of cerebral malaria caused by p.vivax.
