Lifestyle pattern significantly influences whether or not we’re able to maintain a consistent and healthy weight. It is thought that some people are destined to gain weight because they have inherited “fat genes” from their parents. There is no doubt that people vary in their genetic makeup and some people are inclined because of genetic reasons to become tall, broad-shouldered, squat or fat. Globally, over two billion children and adults suffer from health problems and India has the second highest number of obese children in the world after China, according to an alarming study which found that 14.4 million kids in the country have excess weight.
