Cancer is characterized by the proliferation of cells that evades immune surveillance. The incidence of cancer is increasing in our country and hence we need to pay more attention to better cancer awareness, and advanced diagnostic technology to assess disease biology rapidly for personalized or precision therapy against cancer early in its disease. The shift in treatment algorithm from chemotherapy to targeted or monoclonal antibodies or immunotherapy for cancer treatment is available in India with excellent results for both, front line and relapsed cases. We still need more patient awareness programs and penetration into the Indian social structure for the best results. The government of India has made efforts to give more facilities and funding for cancer treatment to one and all.
