Thyrotoxicosis Causing Resistant Metabolic Acidosis in a Patient Presenting with Diabetic Ketoacidosis – A Case Report
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This is a case report of a 43-year female presenting with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) unrelenting to treatment. Subsequent clinical manifestations prompting further investigations revealed the co-existence of hyperthyroidism possibly leading to resistant metabolic acidosis. It underscores the necessity of a high index of suspicion in patients presenting with DKA, prompt evaluation, and aggressive treatment.
