Gianotti Crosti Syndrome Following DPT Vaccination
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Gianotti - Crosti syndrome or papular acrodermatitis of childhood is a distinctive, self-limiting dermatosis of childhood characterised by abrupt onset of non-pruritic lichenoid papules on the face, buttocks and extremities with mild constitutional symptoms and acute, usually anicteric hepatitis. We report a one and half year old boy who presented to us with multiple pink coloured papules that was present over the both upper and lower limbs, with involvement of the palms and soles and also involvement of the trunk and face to a lesser extent. The lesions were of sudden onset and appeared within a few days of the DPT vaccination and were still progressing at the time of presentation. Since the disease has been very rarely associated with vaccination we are reporting this case.
