The networked environment offers a dynamic and powerful medium to knowledge and information seekers with tools such as search engines, portals, subject gateways and so on, for enhancing accessibility to information on the Web. Yet much remains to be done to exploit its full potential. The present paper addresses the issue of e-leaming for library and information professionals and the role of libraries to take advantage of the opportunities to provide quality service to information seekers.
