Briefly describes literary devices used in prose, poetry and discourses. A figure of speech (FOS) is a literary device. In knowledge organization tools, such as, schemes for classification, thesauri, a FOS, generally displays or implies a lateral relationship (non-hierarchic associative relationships between two or more concepts/entities. Mentions with examples some of the groupings/categorizations of FOSs used in the English compositions... Presents a list of Tamil FOS grouped According to function nd criteria for selection of FOS for practical application.
