Long time ago during pre-Independence when the people started awaking and increasingly become conscious of freeing India from the British rule, Dr. Gangaprasad and Jagattarini Debi were blessed with a son i.e. Asutosh. That was 29th June 1864.

This child in the later course of time, brought about a radical change in the field of education, social upliftment etc of India. Initial primary schooling of Asutosh began at the Chakraberia Children School of Bhowanipore, Kolkata. Right from his childhood days Asutosh’s keen liking for studies was remarkable.
