Industrial success depends substantially on correct use of all types of resources including finance. Engineering economy may permit comparisons of potential alternate avenues to monetary terms, such as extending the service life periods of the structures, equipments and components. Hence, the corrosion behaviour of selected materials turn out to be a major consideration in the economic evaluation of the industrial projects.
