Study of Residual Stresses in Welding

For quite a long period, various researches have been carried out to study the residual stresses developed due to welding. The influence of residual stresses on the mechanical behaviour of steels, the different methods for measuring the stress and the effects of welding on residual stress generation have been studied by different research workers.
