Inert Gas Shielded Arc Welding of Copper and Copper Alloys

In spite of considerable work, welding of copper and its alloys pose a formidable problem due to their high thermal conductivity and relatively higher coefficient of thermal expansion. The grades of copper available are tough pitch copper, phosphor deoxidised copper and the oxygen free high conductivity copper.
