In this work, experiments on elliptical heat pipe solar collector were performed to study the thermal performance of it at different inclination angle and orientation angles. An elliptical heat pipe solar collector was investigated experimentally under the field conditions of Chidambaram, India. The collector was designed, constructed, and tested to study its performance for different cooling water mass flow rates at different inlet cooling water temperatures. Elliptical heat pipe with stainless steel wick has been fabricated and used as transport tubes in the collector. Copper tube has been used as container material and methanol has been used as working fluid of the heat pipe. These heat pipes were fixed to the absorber plate of the solar collector and the performance of elliptical heat pipe solar collector was estimated and results were presented in this paper.
