A team is a group of individuals working together with a common purpose, common and clearly defined goals, and an identified process for achieving those goals. Teams are important in providing cost effective high quality health care. When teams work effectively there is a significant difference in the entire work atmosphere. Building healthy teams occurs in all areas of a healthcare organization, including inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings and in organizations that deliver patient care in the home care setting. There are many advantages to the health care workers as well as patients by this type of team services and a trace amount of disadvantages as well.
