Domestic violence is a most troublesome state among the majority of woman's. domestic violence leads to low standard s of quality of life and sometimes life threatening to victim. Domestic violence takes place by social stratification, gender inequality, patriarchal values and poverty. WHO, United Nations and other government agencies has ponderously taken the issue related to domestic violence. further, the social awareness and woman empowerment is the need of hour. In this paper we have reviewed the causes, consequences and strategy to resist domestic violence.
