Amorphous Carbon Electrodes Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis for Supercapacitor Application
In the present investigation, thin films of carbon were prepared at 623±2 K using 0.6 M concentration of sugar solution on to the surface of stainless steel substrates by using spray pyrolysis. XRD studies revels amorphous nature of the deposite. The electrochemical properties of the deposited samples were studied using cyclic voltammetery, chronopotentiometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in 1 M KOH. Cyclic voltammetery shows mixed capacitive behavior. The observed maximum specific capacitance is 518.68 F/g at the scan rate 1 mV/s in the redox potential range-1.48 V to 0.5 V vs Ag/AgCl. Chronopotentiometry shows asymmetric charge discharge nature. The electric parameters such as specific energy, specific power and efficiency were calculated. Using Nyquist plot, the obscured internal resistance was found to be 0.389 Ω.
