Subscribe/Renew Journal
For potable water special precaution is required in collecting the water as far as possible with lesser contaminant, minimum possibility of infusion of any foreign material in the collected water and possiblity of disinfecting the water in natural way.
While taking care of all these, another consideration of reduction in usage of energy also has been considered viz saving in electricity and fuel. This also contributes, may be in microform, in reducing the carbon foot print.
Basic method of "Rain Water Harvesting" is collecting the rain water from a place, subjecting it to filtration to reduce the contaminant and collecting it in a reservoir for subsequent use.
To derive economy the topmost inclined roof of the building over the first floor stair case of 18.5 sq. meter projected area has been selected. This gives 26 kl of water annually.
