Application of the Method of Relaxation for Potential Flow with a Free Surface
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The numerical solution of potential flow with a free surface is a laborious process because the free surface, which is one of the flow boundaries, is not known in the beginning but it emerges in the process of solution to the whole problem. In order to check the accuracy of the Hele-Shaw apparatus, set up at the Hydraulic Laboratory in B. E. College, for the study of ground water flow, the method of relaxation has been adopted to determine the free surface profile for the flow towards an interception drain.
