The first press conference was held on 24. 4 69. Sri S. Basu, Sri S. Neogi and Sri A. Deb. answered queries from the Press. Besides discussing the programme of Golden Jubilee celebration, questions of unemployment amongst engineers, recognition of engineers, recognition of engineering institutions by the Government and other relevant topics came up for discussion. News of golden jubilee was flashed in the press.
