Development of the City of Calcutta (Drainage)

As regards inadequate maintenance and cleaning of the sewers it is easily avoidable if the Municipal organisation is alert and active. Even during the last decade removal of silt from the sewers was done regularly. But since last 15 years or so, such practice has considerably been reduced, if not virtually closed.
