"Standard Procedures in Manual Arc Welding"
Subscribe/Renew Journal
WELDING PROCEDURE is defined in IS: 812-1957, "Glossary of Terms relating to Welding and Cutting of Metals", as a 'specified course of action to be followed in welding, including a list of materials and tools to be used'. The welding procedure must be planned well in advance, taking into consideration the existing standard codes and specifications wherever they are applicable and with an understanding of the various types of electrodes and equipment available or necessary for the job, and, finally, in consultation with the men on the shop floor. A well-planned procedure ensures a most economical and efficient welded fabrication, and, in the case of a production job, consistent quality of production.
