An Ideal Shipyard for the Construction of Ships in India

In order to meet her Shipping Tonnage requirements, the shipbuilding Industry in India has to be given special consideration. This is an industry in which we are still in an elementary stage and our Government should pay more attention to its proper development. At present, the Hindusthan Shipyard in Visakhapatnam is the only shipyard in India which builds sea-going vessels. But its annual output is so much below the demand that Government has a scheme of opening another shipbuilding yard with modern amenities in the 2nd 5 Year Plan.
