Extracts from the Minutes of the Proceedings:-

An Ordinary Meeting of the Association was held on the 18th November, 1955. Sri J. N. Chakrabarty, Sri S. C. Das Gupta, Sri S. K. Guha and Sri M. N. Ghosli were elected Scrutineers for the purpose of ballot for election of members to the Council for 1956 and a paper on "Ship Design" was read by Sri S. Basu.
