Analysis of Indeterminate Systems Experiments on Models
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The very many mathematical or graphical methods of structural analysis with which we are more conversant are good enough for the design of structures that are statically determinate. For statically indeterminate structures, we have several methods, such as (1) the method of area moments; (2) the method of strain energy; (3) the method of slope deflection; (4) the method of fixed points; (5) the method of moment distribution; (6) method of column analogy; etc. Although we have at our disposal all these different methods, which we can easily apply, if we know them, to our problems, sufficient knowledge in respect of them does not as yet appear to be common. This is so partly because the methods of indeterminate analysis are slightly more involved and also because precise structural analysis have no demand or encouragement in India.
