The Concepts and Language of Electrical Engineering

When I received a letter from my old student Mr. Bandopadhyaya welcoming me to Calcutta and asking me to give a lecture to your Association. I was faced with the problem of finding a subject necessarily connected with electrical engineering-for I do not feel qualified to address you on any other branch-which would, however, be of interest to all your members, whatever branch of engineering they might follow.
