Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering

Naval Architecture is a term less well known than shipbuilding or marine engineering. Everybody knows something about shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. But few have heard of the term Naval Architecture or know what is meant by it. The first impression one gets from the name is that it has something to do with the Navy and something to do with Architecture. "Navy" again suggests something warlike, and this to a certain extent dispels interest in the subject from minds prone to peace. But the subject is useful not merely for War. It is required during peace for commerce and pleasure as well.
