Engineering material and equipment are prospected to play a vital role in covering the catastrophic gap between population increase and needs for rural development. The income of rural masses has to be increased manyfold through resource combination and by optimising the alternative plans for translation and success of development efforts in the fields of agriculture and allied industries. This is proposed to be covered by pumping of underground water, levelling of land, use of sprinkler irrigation for in-accessible areas, pumping from small tanks creeks or shallow wells for supplemental irrigation.
