Social marketing means the delivery of scientific and technological knowledge as well as skills necessary for bringing up levels of living and work culture so that they do not compare too unfavourably with those prevalent outside the villages. Such services and instruction should preferably be delivered in conjunction with the products and services of industry and commerce which are marketed in the rural areas. What is proposed here is, as we saw, analogous to what is already being done.
