With this volume, the journal crosses the Golden Jubilee milestone. This volume presents on occasion for offering our homage to those whose inspiring zeal has led the Journal, through trials and tribulations, to cross its fiftieth year and an introspection for re-dedicating ourselves to the causes for which the journal stands. Fifty years for a journal is no trifling performance but it is no cause for our complacency to slacken efforts for updating. The Association of Engineers, India has yet to cross many hurdles and the path is not strewn with roses.
