It is heartening to note that the Government of India has laid some special emphasis on certain Development Projects altering the priority and diverting resources towards their implementation for the benefit o f the rural mass. Some of the ambitious programmes of the Union Government in a bid to achieve ‘Green Revolution’ throughout the country are (i) to extend the electrical transmission and distribution grid to the remotest village, (ii) to irrigate the cultivable lands without much of dependence on the nature and (iii) to establish road links between the rural areas, the urbanisable fringes and the towns and cities.
