Nomography
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In science and technology, Nomographs (also known as Nomograms, Abacs, and Alignment charts) have won much favour during the past two decades. Nomographs are most advantageous when only an approximate result, say within a few per cent, is needed and the same formula is repeatedly required for several sets of values of variables. Very few formulae are outside the scope of the Nomographs. Once the theory is understood, practical short cuts are made to reduce the time required to design an alignment chart For ease of operation and to save time, Nomographs are always preferred by practical engineers. The material presented here is intended to provide a good working knowledge of the fundamental principles of nomography.
