Silicones-The Wonder Material

Early in this century Professor F. S. Kipping of England found from the extensive studies he had undertaken that like Carbon, metal Silicon forms pseudo organic compounds which are polymers consisting of skeleton back-bone of alternative Silcon and Oxygen atoms with organic groups such as Methyl, Phenyl or Venyl attached to Silicon. Professor Kipping christened these products as ‘SILICONES’.
