Note on Design of Welded Structural Joints (Fatigue)

In the survey of failures of welded structures, it has come to the notice of the welding engineers that greater number of failures that occurred in welded fabrications are due to fatigue. Brittle fracture behaviour of the welded joints have also contributed to such failures, of course, in lesser numbers.
