Concrete Admixtures

Admixtures for concrete are not a panacea for concreting problems. They cannot make a weak concrete sound nor their application is universal. Admixtures cannot be allowed for all types of concrete. Except for the use of Calcium Chloride as an accelerator, prior approval by the Engineer-in-Charge is essential before any admixture be used in the field.
