The article embodies brief description of some of the qualities of spun iron pipes, a short account of their manufacturing process, physico-chemical properties and covering specification. The author by virtue of his close association with Messrs. Indian Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Kulti, the pioneer manufacturers of spun pipes in this country by the Stanton a process and with Messrs. Gayday Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Hirodih, during the starting phase of their spun pipe plant, has intimate knowledge of the method of manufacture, inspection and testing of these stores.
