Should Safety Personnel be Held Accountable for Incidents - An Analysis
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Engagement of safety personnel in organisations in India is not spontaneous as yet, rather a sort of compliance of legal stipulation. Additionally, use of safety people, in the absence of rigorous monitoring from Governmental authorities are often found to be quite diverse. Most of the organisations do not acknowledge them as their key member rather a supporting staff and use of them as scapegoat whenever incidents are caused. Outright accusation of safety personnel within organisation and even branding them guilty have been noticed evident in the name of follow-up action in India. It is not only a constant downgrading of safety personnel’s morale and a discouraging business practice, but stands as prominent contradiction to existing legal statute too.
