Emerging Trends of the Pars Tuberalis Research:An overview
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The pars tuberalis (PT), the adenohypophyseal component, has emerged from being a tissue of obscure and unknown function to a tissue of central importance. The PT consists of two to four thin layers of epithelial cells cords, often arranged in follicles, closely adherent to the ventral surface of the median eminence of the hypothalamus and the tuberoinfundibular region that continues caudally with the pituitary stalk. The distinctive feature in this region is, the blood capillary network representing the primary plexus of the hypthalamo-hypophyseal portal system.
