Dicofol-Induced Ovarian Dysfunction in Hemicastrated (HC) Albino Rats

The present study was undertaken with an objective of assessing the antigonadal effect of exogenous melatonin injections in ovarian follicular growth during compensatory ovarian hypertrophy. Female rats exhibiting regular estrous cycle were unilaterally ovariectomised and melatonin was administered at the dose rates of 10,20 and 40 micrograms to these rats divided in groups (n=3D6). The control was injected with normal saline. All the administrations were made at 16:00 hours and started from day zero of unilateral ovariectomy and continued for 3 consecutive days.
