Dr. Anil Krishna Mandal, Ph.D., D.Sc., born in August 1934 in Khulna District, Bangladesh and passed away in October 2010 in Kolkata, was a founder member of SEBA. He was an eminent Protozoologist and recognised nationally and internationally for his contributions in the field of parasitic protozoa, more particularly in Coccidia. Dr. Mandal published Fauna of India on "Protozoa : Eimeriidae", two books on Sundarban and about 150 research papers in national and international journals. He was the retired Deputy Director of the Zoological Survey of India.
