Indian Museum tank and Ballygunge Science College pond have long been used as hydrobiological demonstration and research study ponds by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) scientists and Calcutta University researchers respectively (Nandi, 2007). At present a team of ZSI scientists has been working for a comprehensive study of Indian Museum tank.
