synoptic list of wetland associated/dependent vertebrate species from West Bengal included under Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (amended up to 2006) is provided indicating nomenclatural change, link and entry number of the Act for convenience. It includes 15 species of mammals, 62 species of birds, 29 species of reptiles, 21 species of amphibians and 8 species of pisces. Among the mammalian species, Herpestes palustris is known to be exclusively endemic to West Bengal.
